Brick Veneers - Adam Pollard Brick Veneers Home
Firth Covers All Bases.
When Adam Pollard, Director of Morgan & Pollard Landscapes Ltd in Christchurch was looking to create the perfect home for himself and his family, he looked no further than the Firth range of products.
"We were looking for an innovative product range that we could use on both the house and landscaping," said Adam. "I am really happy how all the products complemented each other and created some interest within the house and landscaping."
For the exterior cladding Adam chose Firth's Devonstone® Tranquility Rumbled. Brick Veneers have a charm all of their own and combine a natural, warm look with the durability and strength of concrete. Adam could also be secure in the knowledge that the veneer cavity system ensures that moisture can escape between the brick veneer and the cavity system. So in other words, you avoid the risk of moisture being trapped and the timber not being allowed to dry out.
To create a dramatic contrast the fireplace was built using Firth 20 series Split Face in the dark, moody Blacksands. Set against the soft, earthy tones of the brick veneer, it generated an eye-catching feature with the fireplace making a strong statement at the side of the house.
When it came to the landscaping Adam was able to link the house with the surrounding gardens by once again using the Split Face in Blacksands for the curved front wall. The gentle curve led the eye towards the front door making a welcoming entranceway. The theme was continued in the back garden where the outdoor fireplace was also build using the Blacksands.
And finally Firth's Classic CobblestoneTM was used for detailing around a small pond and edgings. Although often thought as a more traditional product the Classic Cobblestone can look modern and sleek and is perfect around water features, as the chamfered upper edges help water run off and prevent chipping.
The final result was a warm, robust home with a number of features that made it stand out from the crowd. All thanks to some great design and versatile Firth products.
