New paver range protects the environment

Firth’s new permeable paver range is about to be launched to the market. Permeable pavements are an alternative paving solution to traditional pavers and concrete. Storm water is able to permeate the paver (or its surrounds) which can significantly reduce peak water flow during storms. Storm water run off from traditional pavers and driveways can cause storm water systems to be overloaded in heavy downpours.

Firth's Permeable Paver system also preserves water quality. Storm water contains pollutants such as chemicals, fertilizers, sediment and oils, destroying the quality of water flowing into catchment areas. Permeable pavers permit rainwater to be absorbed by the ground underneath with any contaminants filtered by the greywacke aggregate sub-base beneath the pavers.
