"Due to the fact that we have several mobile batching plants that can be installed on site at remote project locations, we have been able to secure some very good contracts in some very interesting locations," explains Francis Leslie, National Certified Manager for Firth. "This flexibility ensures we can offer our customers speed and reliability of supply."
Mobile batching plant projects include:
- In 2007 Firth installed a Con e Co Lo Pro plant at the White Hills Windfarm project at Mossburn in Southland where more than 12,500m3 of concrete was poured for 29 wind turbines.
- Between 2004 - 2010 Firth supplied more than 70,000m3 of concrete from its dedicated on-site plant at Auckland International Airport for various projects such as the upgrade to the main runway and apron widening.
- During 2009 and 2010 Firth supplied concrete from its mobile Goughs batching plant at Stockton, a very remote location 40 minutes north of Westport, to a new coal handling and processing plant in New Zealand's largest open cast coalmine.
- During 2007 - 2009 Firth installed a mobile batching plant at Sulphur Point to supply in excess of 45,000m3 of concrete to the Harbour Link project - the duplicate harbour bridge in Tauranga.
